Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro
We use Jamf Pro in our school district to manage the restrictions on student devices, as well as providing an app catalog for the entire district for mac and ios. We also use Jamf Pro to locate inventory and see when was the last time a device checked in. One of the biggest features for us is the ability to sync with Apple Classroom, this gives our teachers a great organized way to manage students devices that are currently in their class.
- Jamf pro is great at keeping track of inventory and check-in times
- Jamf pro is great at pushing profiles for restrictions and pushing a large app catalog to a high number of users
- Jamf pro makes erasing and setting up devices a breeze with its integration into apple's DEP program
- We have had some server issues in the past, but a hosted solution would not have had the issues we have experienced
- There are times where we have had a support case open for a long period of time. However, in the end, the issues have always been resolved and the support team is always very nice and most of the time very helpful.
- Jamf pro has allowed us to become the leading district in our state on the technology front. we are pushing changes and ready for updates on day 0
- Jamf Pro has given us the power to create special configurations for machines on the fly and sometimes change those configurations even after a user already has that device.
- Apple Profile Manager
I have used Apple's profile manager, it does a few of the things that Jamf Pro does but barely even compares. With Jamf Pro's superior UI and functionality, you can run circles around profile manager. The main differences are the addition of policies, app catalogs, smart groups, and reporting. All of these things you cannot get from a small app like profile manager.
