Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro

I use Jamf Pro for DEP enrollment, traditional imaging, and other deployment & on-boarding tasks. With Jam Pro, my IT staff can quickly deploy Macs into production with little to no "hand-ons" time. Once in production, my Macs are managed with Jamf policies and profiles for security and convenience. This includes installing and updating macOS, 3rd-party applications as well as specific settings including Finder, Terminal, network and storage.

Jamf Pro replaced multiple ad-hoc management solutions (DeployStudio, ARD, SSH, manual scripts) into a single "pane-of-glass". Jamf Pro allows me to manage the entire life-cycle of my Macs from the second the PO is cut to the day it gets decommissioned and sold/recycled. Jamf is a true turn-key solution for me and my colleagues.

Combining Jam Pro - with other technologies like 802.1x and DEP - makes deploying and managing Macs looks like magic!

We are currently planning on migrating 300+ iOS devices from another MDM solution to Jamf Pro.

  • Zero-day support of Apple operating systems and technologies
  • Jamf Nation & JNUC community. One of the great value-adds of Jamf is the rich online community that it fosters. Jamf Nation has provided lots of real-world technical solutions was well as creative and inspiring ideas that got my "Mac Admin juices flowing" - not just for Jamf customers - but for the Mac IT community at large.
  • Improved reporting and workflows related to Apples new Secure Token, Secure Boot, User-Approved kernel extensions, T2 chipset, and APFS filesystem.
  • Better listening of customers needs in the contact of support cases. Deeper understand of customers environments as opposed to off-the-shelf 'best practices' and canned responses/solutions. One size does not fit all.
  • Better support and documentation of back-end infrastructure technologies such as Apace Tomcat, MySQL and Oracle Java
  • Reduced man-power required to manage and support Macs. Jamf has simplified and streamlined the way me and my IT colleagues deploy and supports Macs. For example, we have created synergy with ServiceNow (our help desk solution), ForeScout CounterACT (our NAC solution) and SCCM (our Windows management solution). We are working smarter - not harder - With Jamf Pro.
  • Faster response to support Macs using remote/dynamic technologies such as policies and profiles, Jamf Remote.
  • Initially, the cost of Jamf Pro was a tough sell to my CTO and upper management staff.
  • In 2019 I will be deploying (a custom-branded) Jamf Self Service. I'm very excited to empower our employees further by allowing them to install and manage their own applications, utilities, and other resources such as fonts, printers etc). This will decrease on-boarding time and reduce IT help desk calls.
I use Jamf Pro to manage all of my 300+ macOS systems including Mac desktops & portables and Mac servers.
