We are leveraging only file upload based user management, but even this is easy to do and keep up to date for our campaigns. KnowBe4 offers even better methods that we simply have not had the internal resources to leverage yet, but look forward to using in the future!
We are using KnowBe4 across the entire organization for awareness training and for regular simulated Phishing exercises. The awareness training provides education and context for our users, and a remediation opportunity for those users who find difficulty in navigating simulated Phishing exercises. These tools are both necessary and effective at reducing our human risk to one of the most common forms of attack in our industry!
- The management interface for training campaigns is well designed and easy to navigate. This makes it easy to create and manage training campaigns!
- The monitoring console provides easy access to details for user remediation training, and good looking dashboards that the C-level folks really appreciate seeing.
- The management interface for simulated phishing campaigns is easy to use, well guided and provides the opportunity to automate remediation and follow-up training assignments easily as part of the simulation!
- While there is a wealth of content for both training and simulation templates, the latest examples that would be applicable to Higher Education (our industry) and not always immediately available.
- Nearly 90% of our security response time was Phishing-response related. KnowBe4 training and simulations have helped us reduce our response and cleanup time for Phishing attacks, saving us dozens of hours per month or more for our security team.
We evaluated free and opensource simulation tools and freely available training, but there is no replacement for having well-managed campaigns where you can demonstrate effectiveness and value to executives. KnowBe4 provides those tools!

The landscape is constantly changing and KnowBe4 has content updates that help keep the training relevant. Even when the latest content is not specific to our industry, it helps us keep our employees fresh to protect themselves at home in the personal technology use as well!
Putting a dashboard of our risk profile in front of a C-Level group gets immediate attention. Being able to present drill-down data of how, when and where our users fail simulations and identify the risk factors for those users is essential and building and maintaining executive support for action and improvements of user cyber security competency! If you catch just one executive giving up their name/password on a simulation exercise, no executive will question the necessity of your investment in user awareness training and testing!
