All new employees are required to complete an initial Security Awareness Training. Employees with access to personal information are required to complete special training annually. Additionally, we use the FERPA and Medical for specific departments as appropriate. We are in the process of developing a mock phishing attempt that will direct failed recipients to a review of security awareness points.

It gives us the ability to keep the training fresh and current with the ever-evolving threats.
The Director of the IT Service Desk enters the email addresses of employees and sends an initial message with an expected completion date. The employee is automatically reminded when they have two weeks remaining. Another notification is sent as the date approaches. If an employee has not completed training within the time allotted they will be shut out of the network.
