Overall Satisfaction with Kronos Workforce Ready

Workforce Ready is used as our HRIS. We use the platform for time management, payroll, performance management, turnover statistics, open enrollment and new hire benefits. The platform is used by our entire organization. It eliminates many of the paper processes that would be required without having a platform in place. It also eliminates the need to organize paper timesheets for 900+ employees on a bi-weekly basis.
  • In the payroll process, it is simplistic to make necessary changes to a pay statement without having to go through multiple steps. For example, we can change a work location on the pay statement if the manager makes us aware after we began processing. This makes our interactions with the accounting team much more successful.
  • The reports are easy to navigate. It is simplistic to add in different fields and filters to get the data that you need.
  • Customer Service. It is very challenging to be required to submit a ticket and wait for a return call. Not being able to set the priority level of your issue is also frustrating. No one, in particular, is assigned to your account so you can frequently deal with multiple customer service representatives based on your issues. This can be extremely time consuming and challenging to manage.
  • Reporting fields are not always available in the reports where you need the data. This can result in running two separate reports that you have to marry together.
  • Implementing time clocks eliminated much of the manual work that went into payroll. Having the ability to reference back to hours worked for audits is simplistic and effective.
  • Correcting issues that arise from Kronos updates is time-consuming and challenging to manage.
Kronos time stamping is more simplistic compared to Enterprise eTIME. I had many more challenges logging into eTIME and ensuring corrections took in the system. The Kronos platform can run slower at times but this could be a combination of Kronos and our own internet server. Overall, I have found that the time management and timesheet layout is more user-friendly in Kronos.
Kronos does a good job of capturing our multiple locations, various pay rates and different rules for different shifts. However, sometimes our rules override one another and it results in pay errors that have to be manually corrected. At this point, we have multiple reports that we check on a bi-weekly basis to do comparisons and ensure that the pay rates and hours are accurately reflected. As a non-profit, we are responsible for billing items very specifically based on the department. Kronos fails to effectively capture this information as effectively as ADP did.
Kronos eliminates the need for paper in a variety of situations which can save a lot of time and energy. However, there are often issues with reporting fields that cannot be added and require a lot of manual work to merge two reports together. There needs to be a greater focus on ensuring the system works together from each piece. Whether I am in payroll or benefits, I should be able to add any field available in the system. Those limitations make many simple tasks much more challenging.
The training materials and webinars are often not applicable to our services. Further, watching a three-hour webinar that has one item similar to ours is a waste of our time and resources. The level of customer service, or lack thereof, is the most frustrating part of Kronos. In an age where customer service gains clients, they are missing that key element. It is nice to have internal movement and promotions but your customers are suffering and consistently making efforts to explain that dedicated service representatives would make a difference.
Kronos does a great job of making a user-friendly interface. However, it seems that there are different people working in different areas. Some reports from benefits do not offer the same filters as a regular employee report. This is frustrating because all of the necessary information is in the system but it cannot be sorted in once place.
Kronos does a great job of making payroll simplistic for those managing the process. There is a clear workflow that can be trained with clear expectations. There is not a significant challenge for those managing payroll to make changes when information becomes available after the payroll is locked for processing. This has truly allowed us to eliminate many errors in advance. When an error to a cost center is made, it can be very challenging to correct different reports in Kronos then provide different data. That can be very disruptive for the finance team.
