Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Litmos to store and deliver company-wide training. It allows employees to start and stop training as their schedule allows. We can track course completion as well as course governance. We use it for security, compliance, and HR related training.

Pros and Cons

Pros

It's very easy to upload SCORM courses to the Litmos.
User Reports allow administrators to track course progress, as well as send reminders to those that haven't completed courses.
Building Learning Path enables administrators to bundle multiple annual training offers to employees.
Adding Additional Questions after training modules is very straightforward and easy to build.

Cons

Adding a Synch option from employee payroll and benefits (ADP) to Litmos would be helpful. Currently you can import, but it doesn't help with individuals who leave the company. It would be helpful to add/remove from ADP.

Return on Investment

It's made tracking training munch easier for our organization.

Alternatives Considered

We've not tried others, but I did evaluate Trivantis and Doecebo. Litmos was just simpler to use and met our needs better than these other vendors.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it's a very useful tool for mid to small sized companies. It's a very flexible platform that allows administrators to add a variety of training content to the learning management system. One challenge we found is there was no place at the employee level to track training that was not completed through Litmos. An example would be an employee who attends a class and receives certifications. If the employee level allowed additional tracking of courses taken outside of the system that would be helpful.
