Overall Satisfaction with LogMeIn Rescue

I use LogMeIn Rescue assist to elevate admin priv with system for software installs, system updates, as well as resolving and troubleshooting various T1 and T2 issues for our company.

I frequently use unattended to remote into a device later to verify an update was completed or fix is resolving an issue.

I've looked into using scripts but have not implemented any at this time.

Some issues of note are disconnects frequently which our team is working with Firewall to resolve, as well as the connection starting as service even though no login was put in which causes issues - closing and reopening the desktop application usually resolves these though.

Pros

  • fast when it works - mouse responds near real time
  • easily elevate admin
  • easily remote back into a computer later to check an update after hours with unattended

Cons

  • disconnection
  • remote session says it is running as system without admin user/password entered or user confirmation which causes issues
  • occasionally freezes and needs to be closed and reopened
  • cut time with T1 interactions to end-users and ability for T2 to push fixes to computer then check later with unattended
  • easily transfer files between computers without having to use teams, email, etc
  • ability to see end-user experience as long as there's a network connection - giving teams ability to securely resolve issues with firewalls/vpns
Did LogMeIn Rescue make it easier to provide support to end users? yes - Except where end-users search google with the link instead of going to 123rescue.com.

These are in cases we are unable to send them a link via IM, chat, or email. Sometimes it's hare to tell if they actually have the website loaded up to enter the support key or they wandered someone else.
End-users can see our names and know it's us. Also, we only use this platform so knowing when someone else is trying to get them to go to a different website causes red flags - they will call on this.
Example moving from go to assist to LogMeIn Rescue assist had people calling into check which is good. Consistency with the URL helps.
I like being able to remote in just to check something and elevate later if needed.

I can grab files from their computer easily or send them .reg and other files quickly.

Some of the lacking side are ease of using the unattended access - there's a learning curve with this.
More options for agents to assist and easier to navigate around the desktop application.

Do you think LogMeIn Rescue delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with LogMeIn Rescue's feature set?

Yes

Did LogMeIn Rescue live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of LogMeIn Rescue go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy LogMeIn Rescue again?

Yes

Great for troubleshooting issues, installs where company portal packages are not in place, or assisting users with general questions where we need to have eyes on to see.

Less appropriate - some situations do not need admin/system priv so this can be done via teams screen share.
