I am a consultant and use mailchimp to send a regular newsletter.
  • Excellent integration with other tools (Wordpress, Hubspot, etc)
  • Super easy to edit and use
  • Fantastic price - £0!
  • I have the ability to track who is reading my material and interested and worth personal intervention and follow-up

It tracks opens and clicks, if you do this with much more volume perhaps marketing automation makes sense.
