Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central
We use ManageEngine Endpoint Central to patch our Windows-based endpoints, push out configurations such as registry changes and file changes, and for software and hardware auditing. Additionally, we also use the OS Deployment feature to re-image our machines.
Pros
- Patch Management is incredibly efficient and easy to use.
- Auditing endpoints makes inventorying hardware and software a breeze.
- OS Deployment allows us to re-image our machines in bulk.
Cons
- UI should resize itself based on the browser window. E.g. When editing a patch configuration, I need to use the zoom out feature of the browser to see the "Action" column. This occurs while using Chrome as well as Edge.
- The Blue Circle hamburger icon that appears in the bottom right is constantly in the way of certain menus. To keep it out of the way of the work area, it should reside in the top bar of the screen, next to the "Review and Earn Notification" button OR next to the "Recommended Products button.
- The Sub Module aspect of Reporting makes creating custom reports rather limited, since the information in the databases is siloed off from each other.
- Reporting makes displaying information (such as patch status, age of devices) to the board of directors incredibly easy.
- During a blue screen of death event, the OS Deployment functionality allowed us to re-image all of our 70+ laptops in one day's time.
