Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Access
We use MS Access for databases such as company-wide skill sets and certifications that we then link to our internal social media platform (Jive), in order to publicly display this information company-wide so that if a person is looking for someone with a particular skill set, they are easily able to identify who might have it.
- Databases
- Communication with CRM
- Communication with Jive
- Ease of use
- Platform is dated
- Could use a refresh
- Better help with coding
- It saves time
- Saves money
- Easy to use and locate
I think MS Access is the best available platform for creating user-friendly databases that can be easily maintained by employees who do not have very many advanced technical skills. It's easy for an administrator to keep up and maintain even if they have no coding experience and barely know their way around a computer.
Using Microsoft Access
3 - Operations for the most part. We use it to create a living database of engineering capabilities and certifications that are then publicly linked to our internal social media site so that sales teams are able to deploy the best and most available resource possible when delivering service deals and such.
3 - We have some very well skilled and well versed engineers in house on our internal IT team who writes the database code as well as the link to the public posting of the data in said database. This is a dying art, so people with these skills are becoming more and more rare.
- Database
- Connection to public facing site
- Connection to crm
- Nothing too exciting - just what it's designed for
