We primary use Microsoft Entra ID for Centralize Identity Management and SSO.

- Seamless access to Microsoft 365 and Azure Services and others
- Extensive Integration with our SaaS Applications like Slack, CRM, travel
- Support for Various SSO Protocol services like SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM) for Just-in-Time Access for Azure admins when needed
Cons
- Complexity and steep learning curve
- it works well with HTTPS traffic but it is difficult to integrate with proprietary protocols and tools or legacy authentication services
- It need simpler Licensing and Pricing model
- Vendor and tools consolidation is good for TCO and simplify things
- Better productivity by users seamless access to SaaS apps
- Simplified access for developers, DevOps , and admins
Entra ID is deployed entirely in a cloud environment. Underlying infrastructure includes compute resources, data storage, networking, SaaS apps. Entra ID is here for managing employee accounts, providing secure access to Microsoft 365 apps, enabling Single Sign-On to various SaaS applications , managing company-owned and (BYOD) devices, easy onboarding and offboarding of employees.

The user signs in once to their Microsoft Entra ID account (often when they log into their Windows machine or open their browser). After that initial authentication, they can seamlessly access virtually all their work applications like Microsoft 365 apps,GIT, Jira, Zoom, Slack, etc. without re-entering credentials. Features like Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) and My Access (for requesting access to applications or groups) empower users to manage common identity tasks themselves.
