Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow)

It is currently being used in pilot rollout in our company. Different business units are using it for different purposes including automation of intake processes, automation of email forwarding and replies, and project approval processes.
  • Integration with different connectors
  • Easy to test and debug flows
  • Minimal coding necessary
  • Wide availability
  • Approval emails can't be sent from custom senders
  • Issues with cutting and pasting steps
  • Limitations on how workflows are triggered with SharePoint Lists
  • Difficult to find release notes
  • Very low licensing cost
  • Easy integration with Microsoft tools
  • Minimal coding
  • Large availability of templates
  • Cut and paste defects
Power Automate is much easier to learn than Nintex Workflow, with much easier ability to test and debug. Nintex however has a much better workflow approval process with more mature functionality.
It's not always easy to find latest updates in enhancements, defects and general news in Power automate. However the user community is quite strong.

Do you think Microsoft Power Automate delivers good value for the price?

Did Microsoft Power Automate live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Microsoft Power Automate again?

It is great when you have repeating tasks that need to be automated involving Microsoft tools such as Office 365. It is excellent when quick automation needs to be created, and the user doesn't have much coding experience. It's less suited for high volume critical data as the support is limited and defects are not easy to resolve.
