Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

We use it on a daily basis to track our numbers and review all of our data, we have dashboards and reports built for our internal users so that way they can see how they are performing by the hour, we also have our reports embedded into our own internal portal which is one of the awesome Microsoft Power BI capabilities.

Pros

  • StoryTelling
  • Report Development
  • Handling Complex calculations
  • Scalability

Cons

  • Speed
  • Report visual Sharpness similar to Tableau
  • Fix Matrix totals
  • People know how they are doing and what they need to do by the hour everyday
  • They are able to see what's wrong and right with their performance analysis
  • it is cheaper than Tableau
Because you can have Microsoft Power BI set up for the most complex and challenging scenarios as well as some basic analysis, it is free to use on the desktop and the Microsoft Power BI pro license is not expensive to share reports with your coworkers, it is also mobile friendly and can be embedded into your own application
Overall Microsoft Power BI has more capabilities, it is more customizable and it also has it's own query language DAX which is really powerful for complex calculations and that's something you just don't get in their competitors, also when integrated with the other power apps, such as power automate you can automate a lot of the reporting aspect making it really awesome.

Would you buy Microsoft Power BI again?

Yes

it is the best tool out there, the desktop version is free to use so you can use it in your own projects, it is also appropriate for very large organizations because it has elastic scalability plans, it also well suited for complex scenarios where you need to have everything in one place with the use of fabric. it is not suited if you have very basic reporting and not really large datasets.
