Power BI Reporting Shortfalls
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI
Microsoft Power BI is used to create dashboards and visual management systems for several groups within my organization. It is simple to use and can create powerful visualizations. It falls short, however, when used as an automated reporting tool. Users can subscribe to a report/dashboard, but if the report is modified, the subscription breaks with no notification to the subscriber. This led to a lot of confusion by users not understanding why they were no longer receiving reports.
Pros
- Visualizations
- Pivot Tables
Cons
- Subscribing to reports
- Easier access to underlying data
- Our quality dashboard has increased broad awareness, improved accountability, and accelerated time to resolution of quality issues.
