Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI was used to create dashboards which highlighted sales totals for all [...] products by month. This was used to determine which products were performing the best and which ones were under performing.

Pros

  • Visualizations
  • Connecting to Snowflake
  • Pivoting and unpivoting data

Cons

  • DAX formulas can be too complex
  • Difficult to add slicers
  • Bookmarks are confusing
  • Reduced number of hours used to generate report
  • Data accuracy
  • Eliminated manual work
Again, having to use DAX code is not user friendly. Why not have an easy build calculation that resembles writing SQL queries

Microsoft Power BI is great for showing visualizations. For example, I built a report that had a bar chart which easily displayed total sales by month then added a Trend line. Users were able to easily identify info they needed without any difficulty. I had to use DAX in order to get aggregate some of the data displayed in my dashboard. The DAX code was not intuitive. Had to go online amd research a lot
