Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

We use Microsoft Power BI to prepare reports from our ITSM tool. We track ticket SLA, user feedback, MTTR etc. We use the report to identify top problems or top cause of high-ticket count and get the issue resolved. Meanwhile, we also ensure that user who raise tickets are satisfied with our service.

Pros

  • Importing Data
  • Preparing reports
  • DAX formulas

Cons

  • Report colors are outdated, and they need to be revamped.
  • Formatting charts is very confusing.
  • DAX queries are very technical. They can be simplified.
  • As a M365 user, Microsoft Power BI was free for us except for publishing in teams.
  • Compared to Tableau, it has more data connectivity options enabling us to form better reports.
  • Default colors are dull, and formatting consumes too much effort.
Importing data is easy. Whether it be from web, excel, pdf etc. It's all matter of click.
Cleaning report is also child's play.
Manual effort is required in forming relations among tables.
Reading csv data gets corrupted sometimes also.
Creating report is easy.
Making report aesthetic is time consuming.
Summarized column is a good thing.
Compared to this tool, Microsoft Power BI doesn't involve heavy coding and provides user friendly interface to visualize data. Microsoft Power BI reports can be shared and published without exposing your source code. Also, the reports are interactive providing drill down support. In Microsoft Power BI, you just don't show data. You interact with it.
