Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project is quite popular in my organization for defining the timeline and deliverables. This tool is really useful to manage the projects that involve cross functions and systems. It also enable us to track the status of the project and risks around the activities. It is used mostly by the department for various projects which has a huge engagement of resources and needs a detailed layout of projects. It usually helps us to understand resource allocation and defining the planning schedule. It also helps us to understand the risks associated with the project.
Pros
- Resource allocation.
- Project tracking.
Cons
- Expensive license - Online it is available as free with Microsoft Office but the offline license for desktop use is too expensive.
- The online version of Microsoft Project does not have Gantt charts and project tasks like the offline version does.
- Save time in project management.
- Reduces efforts in resource management.
Here is what Microsoft Project has over competitors:
- No limit on file size upload versus Trello.
- Easy to define the project activities as it is the same as MS Excel.
- Easy to access and user-friendly.
- Resource allocation management is efficient versus Trello.
- The tool is more professional.
- Online versions help to connect multiple users without any limitation on users.
