Used to be a skeptical user, now I've been converted to a full believer given the functionality & features of Microsoft Teams
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is being used by our entire organization currently. We had used Skype for Business for quite a few years which solved our challenges but after the migration to Microsoft Teams, it's hard to envision a typical work day without this vital software. We use Microsoft Teams for everything from user-to-user chat, video calls & meetings, calendar updates, file sharing for teams, and also as way to collaborate.
Pros
- Excellent user interface
- Speedy, no latency issues
- One stop shop for all things collaboration related
Cons
- Bluetooth/headset compatibility is a huge issue that could be added
- Sometimes video calls drop on Teams
- Collaboration via text, video, or team call
- Simplistic, efficient file-sharing
- Calendar connected to Outlook
- Makes it super simple for us to collaborate, leaving us more time to spend on getting work done instead of worrying about the tools we use
- More time saved with Teams is more time being efficient with the work day hours
- Skype for Business (formerly Lync) and now part of Microsoft Teams
Well, Skype for Business is basically an older version of Microsoft Teams. With that being said, I used to be upset at the transition from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams because of learning a new product. Now that I've been using Microsoft Teams for 2 years, I don't know how I would have lived without it in hindsight. I would say Teams just does such an excellent job in terms of additional functionality and features compared to Skype for Business. The difference/contest is a no-brainer in this instance between Skype for Business & Microsoft Teams.
