Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Yammer

We used Yammer as an organizational platform for sharing and collaborating. We used it like our internal social media to share updates ranging from birthday wishes to have healthy discussions on relevant business issues. We posted the problems we were facing at the time and asked employees across the globe to suggest solutions.

Pros

  • It creates a common platform for employees to connect with one another on off-business topics and common interests.
  • Leadership could share business updates with us on Yammer.
  • Best Practices and Unique achievements were posted on Yammer community.

Cons

  • The UI needs some improvement.
  • No other point.
  • I was not part of a revenue center, so I have no idea about the impact on ROI.
I am not sure how Yammer fares when compared to the Linkedin Suite as I have not really used Yammer for the purposes that I used Linkedin. Only if I get to use Yammer in the near future will I certainly assess from this perspective and share my feedback on this.

Yes

It is best suited for large global organizations where the workforce is spread across geography. It creates a platform for coming together on various topics of common interest. Yammer may not be appropriate for discussions on tasks pertaining to a group based out of the same location. Any sensitive business/client information may also not be shared.
