Mimecast Advanced Email Security - best in class protection for your email
Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security
We use Mimecast Advanced Email Security as our primary line of defense against spam and malicious email. All inbound email comes through Mimecast Advanced Email Security and we have policies to scan attachments, do impersonation prevention, block known bad URLs, etc. Previously we had used Proofpoint for this, but we had heard good things about Mimecast Advanced Email Security's reputation.
Pros
- Block malicious attachments in email
- Prevent impersonation of our employees by bad actors
- Cut down on the amount of spam delivered to inboxes
Cons
- The dashboard is difficult to navigate sometimes
- The difference between policies, exception policies, and lists can be confusing
- VIP impersonation protection is a bit manual to setup
- Increased email security
- Reduced the amount of spam we get, so saves time processing email
- Does require a bit more time for our IT department to get in to release emails, find attachments blocked and release them, etc. The admin dashboard can be a little slow to login to and get around.
We migrated to Mimecast Advanced Email Security from Proofpoint and we had Mimecast Advanced Email Security support help with the transition - it went pretty smooth, no loss time for email or anything.
As I recall, Proofpoint had become painfully slow to navigate around the admin portal, and we had heard good things about Mimecast Advanced Email Security, so Mimecast Advanced Email Security fit the bill as far as not being so slow to operate.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security had a reputation in the industry we went with, and the price was very competitive at the time.
