Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is used widely through our department for interactive design charrettes, critiques, and presentations. It has been used as a replacement for in-person sketching and design development, as well as presentations to reviewers.
  • Ability to annotate on drawings.
  • Following along with peoples design process.
  • Ease of use and access for new and guest users.
  • Long load times for high resolution images.
  • Allow locked items to be copy and pasted without unlocking first.
  • A feature to easily share parts of board on social media.
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Improved discussions.
  • Delays in presentation.
Miro works very well for large groups for various purposes. The ability to comment on people's work in multiple ways- be it annotation or adding sticky notes and emojis have been very helpful during the design process. Introducing guest reviewers has been easy as well due to its user-friendly interface.
Miro helps replicate the in-person design process that includes a lot of sketching and iterating. However, with large groups or projects on one board, it can get a little difficult to navigate the board and requires a lot of zooming in and out. The lag in loading images has mildly affected our use of the app.
Miro is the only way we have been able to conduct design charrettes and reviews that is as close to in-person as we can get. In the academic sphere, it is helpful to have several Miro boards for brainstorming and workshopping. It is easy to upload precedents and create mood boards that would not happen in person.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is a great platform for designers in the design process. It allows for ease of virtual discussions and annotations for workshopping and design development. However, it can cause problems when using it for presentations to reviewers due to the long load times of larger images when zooming in on them, requiring presentations to be done outside of Miro.
