Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We utilize Miro for collaboration in the team as well as between the teams. It helps us in brainstorming and putting our thoughts together in one place. We typically utilize pre-set Miro boards and use them for team events such as retros (using the Sailboat framework), planning, learning and training, various team activities, etc.

Pros

  • Provide collaboration platform to brainstorm and put our thoughts together at one place via stick-ons
  • Provide options to set a timer during our miro sessions
  • Provide an option to have some preset slides/pictures which can be fixed on the miro board for utilizing in the miro team sessions

Cons

  • Sometimes, the pictures put on the Miro board get accidentally dragged on the board which causes disarrangements/overlaps of the pictures
  • Sometimes Miro board gets zoomed in or zoomed out far more than expected
  • Sometimes, the features of Miro are not very intuitive
  • Improved collaboration in the team for better outcomes
  • Made the virtual engagements with the team very interactive and visual
  • Created good retro content for the team to discuss and delve on
Implementation of Miro was smooth and I heard about the Miro tool during the pandemic lockdown where it helped our teams to collaborate virtually. The tool is readily available and hardly has any downtime. The tool also has notifications functionalities wherein the users get the notifications when the Miro board is changed/updated.
Though I don't have much context on the integration of elements of Miro, I find it really easy to export the Miro boards and files to have it in a pdf/PowerPoint format for easy reference during subsequent team meetings. The tool comes with easy interfaces with other applications which gives the user options to integrate.
Definitely, during the lockdown, our organization was looking for a tool that can be utilized by a remote and globally dispersed team. There Miro came in very handy and our teams have benefitted by collaborating through this tool and in effect saved time and brought inefficiencies in our ways of working as well.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is best suited for team collaboration events such as team planning, team retros (what went well/what could be improved), brainstorming sessions, and assessing the pros/cons of an element within the project. It is less suited for those activities which require any quantitative analysis such as involving numbers/ratings/aggregation of scores etc.
