Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We primarily use Miro for planning and scoping sessions, working asynchronously on R&D and using it as a tool for external presentations. WE also use it as a shared resource for social activities and as a hub for sharing resources. We have a mixed hybrid & remote team so Miro allows us to have a hared space and work collaboratively
Pros
- Project retrospectives - allows for a shared space for feedback and discussion
- Easy to organise using frames and talk tracks, allowing people to parachute into boards and easily read
- Templating allows us to be consistent across our boards so they are easily read by the team
Cons
- We use Jira for task management and the Jira integration isn't great. We can't reset filters so it's difficult to use it for stand ups and it doesn't always show all the tasks when you use the swimlanes
- The grouping of sticky notes using AI is inconsistent and not reliable
- Only the person who owns the board can hide frames - it would be useful if everyone could, allowing other people on the team to support when preparing boards / planning workshops
- Talk tracks have been great at saving us time having to have handover calls, especially over summer where the team had overlapping holidays and weren't always around at the same time.
- Being able to save our own templates has saved us time having to search through old boards to find what we need for recurring meetings, and given consistency across our boards, meaning leadership can jump into a board and already have an understanding of how to read it
We are able to have a fully remote team work alongside our hybrid team & not have to rely on scheduling everyone in the same room. It also allows us to have an artefect we can refer back to from retrospectives, kick offs, planning etc
