Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro extensively for client workshops and internal collaborations. The platform has proven invaluable for our hybrid work environment, especially when planning company events and managing projects that require visual solid elements. Its collaborative features enable our team to work effectively regardless of location, making creating interactive sessions with clients and brainstorming ideas with colleagues easy. The visual workspace is handy for mapping customer journeys, creating mood boards, and developing project timelines. Miro has become my go-to tool for any project requiring visual collaboration and real-time team interaction.

Pros

  • Real-time interaction with little lag, even when working with huge boards.
  • Frequent updates make the tool more straightforward to use.
  • Miro AI makes categorization easy when dealing with a lot of information.

Cons

  • I appreciate the cleaner interface after the latest update, but I find myself spending too much time looking for specific tools.
  • There are weird grayish halo around PNG images.
  • Auto-layout of stickies can be better.
  • Reduced workshop preparation time by 40%.
  • Reduced travel expenses by 20% by enabling effective remote workshops.
Due to the latest UI update, the cleaner look is easier on the eyes of experienced users, but older and more inexperienced users find it hard to find or locate certain tools.
Before Miro, coordinating projects across our distributed teams was challenging, often resulting in delayed decisions and miscommunication. Now, our teams can work synchronously or asynchronously on the same board, regardless of time zones or locations. Team members can contribute ideas at their convenience, and when we meet live, everyone can simultaneously interact with the board. This has led to more inclusive discussions and better idea generation, as quieter team members feel more comfortable contributing through visual means.
FigJam and Milanote have better organization and load faster. However, for visual collaborations, I find that it is still easier to use Miro, especially if there are many participants on one board. The specialization focusing on real-time collaboration has made the process very seamless, and there is always a tool to fill facilitation needs.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro excels in scenarios requiring visual collaboration, such as design brainstorming, workflow mapping, and interactive workshops. Versatile canvas makes it perfect for creating mood boards, journey maps, and project timelines. However, there are some limitations. The inability to globally control background grid visibility can lead to inconsistent board designs across users. During screen-sharing sessions on platforms like Zoom or Google Meet, multiple cursors from inexperienced participants can become distracting when not using presentation mode, occasionally disrupting the flow of meetings.
