Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro as a collaboration space - a place to build, move, draw, agree/disagree - especially when we're not physically in the same location. It's used largely for workshops, with Design Thinking or Systems Design themes. But it's increasingly being used as an alternative to PPT decks, where you want an increased amount of interaction without having to rely on something like MS Polls or Mentimeter.

Pros

  • Design Thinking
  • Collaborative Workshop Facilitation
  • Ideation and Prototyping

Cons

  • System stability
  • Onboarding new Miro users
  • Advanced Miro skills enablement
  • Quicker decisions
  • Getting visual with concepts
  • I wish everyone had access as it's created a 'Miro divide'
We can very quickly go from ZERO to SOMETHING. It also allows colleagues who aren't skilled in prototyping techniques to making something out of nothing. What other tool do we have, other than a laggy shared Word doc, that would allow people to gets hands-on with something in a virtual environment?
Miro is the official collaboration tool of choice in our workplace, so this is why I choose it. Mural seems to have very similar functionality, and I find it easy to switch between the two programs. I don't have an overview of the pricings involved, so can't comment on whether that would drive my decision making.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Once I've decided that something is not just a simple 'TELL' style message, I then think about my audience. It can be easy to jump into 'making a Miro' for everything - but when you stop and think first, it becomes easier. I love having full access to the Miroverse; even if I only keep 50% of the contributor's templates, it's got me 50% of the way from the start line. Even if you're just asking people to write on sticky notes and use dot voting, there is an element of 'ramping up' when you have people coming to a session where Miro is used. We developed our own 'Miro Crash Course', but it would be excellent to have further ways to support newbies.
