Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint / SQL
We used SharePoint (SP) through Office 365 as a primary method of file storage and team collaboration. Using all available apps in SP we tried to maximize feature usage through Planner, Teams, Sway, Flow and others. Some elements were quite valuable, others were lacking in intuitive use. Mostly it was hard to know where things were being stored across apps. If I upload a file in Teams, why couldn't I also easily access it from the Planner page for the same team?
- Integration with most Office 365 apps.
- Sharing and group collaboration is MUCH improved from prior iterations.
- Good experiments with new apps. I like getting to play with things in beta.
- Better alignment between new apps like Planner and Teams.
- More variation on question and result types in Forms.
- Easier sharing with non-SP users or outside enterprise collaboration. Such as vendor access to a specific folder for deliverables, but not the rest of the project.
The ease of tagging files and folders in Google Drive, but not having to move things is STILL something significant that MS has yet to address. A file may rest in a folder, but be relevant to several other topics or projects.
