Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint / SQL

This product is being used to provide our company with an internal intranet for the different sub-offices that comprise the company as a whole. It is used for a wide variety of tasks such as calendars, and task assignment. It provides a central location for our offices to manage their day to day activities.

Pros

Cons

  • Interface is confusing
  • Not obvious how to set up and use some features
  • Help documentation does not always provide solutions
We never evaluated any alternatives. We are primarily a Microsoft shop, so often we do not look into other products if Microsoft offers what we are looking for. This allows us to have consistency among the products that we use within our office. In turn this makes things easier on our users who are already familiar with Microsoft products.
Large scale enterprise level operations. Not really suited for small businesses.
