Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

We switched from Quickbooks to NetSuite ERP as our main accounting software. NetSuite ERP helps us to keep track of all things financial, including our accounts payable, receivables, account balances, reports, and so much more. Because we have a shared account with our parent organization, this allows for better visibility across all divisions of our business, with access to reports, sales information, and tracking.

Pros

  • NetSuite ERP allows for many customizations in so many areas like invoices, reports, and so on.
  • NetSuite ERP allows us to share our financial information with our parent company easily.
  • NetSuite ERP gives us an easy and quick way to keep track of payables and receivables.

Cons

  • Some of the customization options are really complex and can be difficult to figure out without NetSuite ERP direct support.
  • The usability is a bit less intuitive than Quickbooks.
  • The cost to give someone a license to even just view information in NetSuite ERP is pretty high.
  • NetSuite ERP has allowed us to see more clear details around where our business is financially which leads to smarter business decisions.
  • NetSuite ERP has freed up time that was spent on certain functions in our old accounting software, leading to more efficiency.
  • NetSuite ERP has given us more visibility across business divisions.
While the basic functions are fairly easy to use, the more complex tools and customizations do require a deeper accounting knowledge, and/or more support from NetSuite ERP's team. Whereas Quickbooks was simple enough to figure a lot out on my own, I've had to rely more on support of others in order to decipher certain aspects of the software and use them appropriately.
As our company grows, we determined that we needed something that goes deeper than Quickbooks, has more customization options for various functions, and allows us to have visibility across the entire company. While Quickbooks was definitely a bit more intuitive in terms of functionality, NetSuite ERP just has more options and tools that give us more insight and tracking.

NetSuite ERP is a great next step from the simplicity of Quickbooks as your company grows. It offers much more customization and tools in general, but with that, you need to have some more knowledge or support from NetSuite ERP on how to make certain aspects function the way you need. But overall the basic accounting functions are relatively simple to use and effective.
