Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

NetSuite is primarily used for inventory tracking as well as finance at our organization. I know that there is other functionality that we can be utilizing within the system, but the cost/training/rollout are all under consideration. NetSuite does have some really great functionality around barcoding and configuration, but the changes do come at a cost.

Pros

Cons

  • Difficult to train to
  • Lack of customer support (all comes at a cost)
  • Difficult to navigate
  • Positive: Excellent tool for the finance department
  • Positive: Configuration options (if we were able to purchase support)
  • Negative: Support is very expensive, and they tend to tell you all the capabilities before slapping the high price tag on the table.
If proper training is provided, I think the system can be very usable. For most individuals though, it is difficult to navigate and train to. There are a lot of tabs, options, and fields to complete. However, Netsuite does integrate with other software, which makes it very usable if the customer was able to purchase special hours with Netsuite to support that integration.
It was familiar to a few people in our organization who primarily use it.

I think that if there was appropriate training and rollout of the system at an organization, it could be incredibly useful. However, additional training was offered at a fairly significant cost. The system overall is very compliant, and appears to work well for pharmaceutical/medical device companies. However, training is a primary hurdle.
