The Newswire system is quick and easy to use. Inputting a press release is straightforward, and configuring various options is all very clear. The review process is also usually fairly quick. Once we submit a release for review, we're usually able to distribute it within a couple of hours at most. Reporting on each release also starts rolling in fairly quickly so we can watch the results hour-by-hour.
Meltwater is a great platform for more involved media intelligence, monitoring, and even social media engagement and monitoring. It also comes with a hefty price tag to reflect the more robust functionality, and it was simply overkilled for our current business needs. PR Newswire is a very similar system that offered packaged pricing, but we ultimately chose Newswire because we can pay as we go without worrying about contracts and automatic renewals.
