Overall Satisfaction with Okta
At [...], we use Okta for secure identity and access management. It centralizes authentication, enabling employees to access multiple applications with a single login. It helps manage user accounts efficiently, especially when onboarding or offboarding. Okta make sure we secure password storage, reduces the risk of unauthorized access, and streamlines IT processes across the organization.
Pros
- It's simplies password storage
- It's quick to pull up the password prefill option
- I like this it has an option for personal passwords and separates from the business side.
Cons
- When it comes to Macs it easier to bypass and let MAC/Google prefill. This defeats the purpose but I'm sure users do it when they are limited on time.
- The dashboard can be overwhelming for new users. Some settings are buried within submenus
- It’s improved our security through robust multi-factor authentication and centralized access controls.
In my role, Okta use is just limited to signing in and having a dashboard of accounts that Okta has collected.
In my role, I haven't had to contact Okta . I guess that's a good thing. It's been very smooth using daily since it was implemented. It's never crashed or prevented me from getting into a site where Okta was storing the username and password. In fact, I haven't heard any coworkers complain about Okta either.
In the previous question, I mentioned that I've never been prevented from logging into any sites that Okta managed. Additionally, I haven't heard of any coworkers complaining about it either. It makes sense to hear that Okta has a 99.9% uptime. That's very impressive. I would definitely recommend to other colleagues outside of my business.
The only others services that I use for password storage are my google work account and Apple iCloud. Overall, I'd rank apple the lowest . Gmail is the most convenient in terms of quickly going to a site and having the password prefill. Where Okta is better than Google though, is when I'm needing to search my password info for a specific website. Okta has a much cleaner dashboard with icons that make it so much easier to spot rather than scrolling through URLs.
