Overall Satisfaction with Okta
My company is using Okta as identity and access management provider for major portion of our apps. Okta is a centralized platform for Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Pros
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Universal Directory
Cons
- Too secure - login session timeout is too short
- Too expensive - high price
- Too complex - need specialized knowledge
- Improved security posture
- Automated IT tasks
- Speed of deployment
Centralized = "Simplified" identity management means IAM all happens in one environment. In a workplace setting, this looks like the user signing into a single workspace to access all the applications and tools they need.
We had an issue w/ SSO authentication to one of our critical enterprise applications - Okta support team helped us troubleshoot and resolve the issue in a timely and professional manner.
End users are relying on Okta to always be working, IT team is benefitting from an intelligent centralized IAM system. It is a gamechanger for us when compared to legacy solutions.
Internal expertise was with Okta, we also considered total cost of ownership, admin overhead, and deployment/setup time.
