Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely

We use Optimizely to test out some ideas for the UI that people have instead of blindly changing our site, we get great data on the impact of every change we make. Mostly Engineering uses it, but some project managers use it as well.
  • A/B testing
  • The impact of CSS and HTML edits
  • Integrating with our database to figure out revenue impact.
  • Optimizely could be more intuitive. You have to dig through documentation in order to set up a simple A/B test.
  • It has allowed us to show whether changing things in the UI give us more clicks.
Optimizely is good if you are looking at clicks or views, but if you're looking for the impact on revenue or other metrics in your database, you might want another tool. We personally built our own tool to account for A/B testing while looking into our own data for impact.
