Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Optimizely Web Experimentation in our organization on the marketing side of the business. At this time the tests we run are rather one-off but our hope is to put together more of a process that will allow us to build on the tests. Right now the focus is trying to get customers through the purchase funnel.

Unfortunately, we don't have hard monetary numbers associated with our tests.

Scalability

It's quite useful for the purposes that we've needed to engage with it! Multiple business units make use of the tool, some at larger scale than others. There does need to be a process set up between business units; however, to help with sharing of best practices and ensuring users know what is going on.

Optimizely Platform Scope

We have multiple tests running across business units. We end up taking the results and plugging them into a reporting template that we use outside of Optimizely.

It's useful for uncomplicated pages and basic research questions. It's likely a researcher would need the support of a developer to incorporate testing into more complex pages. However, as a tool I can't think of a scenario, where testing is appropriate to answer the research question, where you wouldn't want to use Optimizely.
