Overall Satisfaction with Oracle PeopleSoft HCM
PeopleSoft is used for HR, Payroll, and Benefits on our campus. It is also used for financial and student solutions, but that is outside the scope of my work.
- Job Data works well within PeopleSoft. The payroll function runs smoothly.
- Batch processing runs smoothly and is easy to develop as we identify needs for tracking new information and asking our divisions to provide information for mass upload.
- The Time and Absence module is quite clunky and is definitely a place for improvement. Asking people to review, track, and approve time in the current module is hard to do. People have built many shadow systems to deal with this.
- The upgrade to 9.2 does not seem to have added improvements, and in some ways made the system less functional. The changes were not explained in a way that showed how they were positive.
- The system does not allow for the concept of a 0% FTE, which I think it more common than they think.
- Coming from a homegrown system, it did bring the payroll and HR functions together which is a positive ROI.
