Overall Satisfaction with Oracle PeopleSoft HCM

We use it for HR and Payroll. It is nice because it works with our accounting system as well, but we also have to use another database to export data, which is a little annoying. There are some kinks that could be worked out, but overall the system is pretty good and gives us what we need.

  • Over the years it has helped reduce the FTE counts within various agencies
  • We have recently started looking into another database that will do all the things we need, Payroll, HR, Accounting, budget.
I think that this could be better if we had staff who knew what it all meant and what each module did in the system. I dont think that it is the system itself. Its that we need to be trained on the system.
Oracle at the time was what was the best option. Now that we are years from when we first implemented it, we now see that there are other options that we could use to provide us what we need and not use as many systems.

It works good when we have staff that know how to properly use it. I do not think that it is a system problem, I think that the problem is that we have new staff or just various staff across our agency that use it and we dont all use it the same and also the staff who do use it do not know the ins and outs of it and that is the main problem.
