Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server
- We used Parallels to run applications/software for MAC users through AppsAnyWhere. - Also, parallels were used to access Desktops in our University’s labs. - One of the main problems that we faced was adding new Desktops. It caused to get all the other available Desktops/labs on AppsAnywhere to be down.
Pros
- Giving access to different Applications and software
- Giving access to Labs PCs/Desktops
- Running windows on MAC
Cons
- The connection is sometimes slow and even disappears
- Sometimes unable to connect to some remote desktops
- Continue working on projects by studnets through out the panadamic time
- Allowing Parallels RDP connection for specific Desktops instead of accessing Uni campus
Yes. We added all our general labs’ desktops to parallels remote applications. And instructors were able to conduct their classes online by allowing the students to access the labs. Also, we grant access to dedicated Pcs using Parallels remote desktops to be used by Master students and Researchers to finish their work remotely.
Parallels Remote Application Server is used in our Univerity by many students and Researchers. They access virtual applications (software) and desktops (Labs) from Windows, Mac, and HTML.
RAS allows us to create and run Virtual Machines. Each virtual machine acts like a complete computer, running an operating system and programs. We are using AppsAnyWhere (software2) with Parallels RAS to access Applications and Desktops.
