Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Paycor is being used by my organization specifically for payroll processing, and all the associated activities. We do not currently use the platform for the entire employee lifecycle. Time tracking, benefits, PTO, etc., is transferred into the system from other systems we use. It is currently being used by all companies across my organizations.
  • The software is easy to use
  • Customizations are nice
  • Updating and creating large amounts of data through the imports has been convenient
  • Implementation was less than optimal.
  • We were told that certain features didn't exist, only to find out later from another source that they did.
  • Customer service has been spotty. The specialist assigned to our account has an easy time promising results, but the follow through isn't timely.
  • Good: our costs went down
  • Bad: time for processing payroll went up
  • Ugly: would love to move on, but no one has the appetite to implement another payroll system
Our HR and/or payroll team is spending more time than we did previously due to Paycor. - The process for getting Paycor implemented was so arduous that there hasn't been any time saved. Just increased. This is mostly to do with customer service and poor information flow. The customer service has been less than optimal. When you ask a question there is little follow through. The teams over there need to find a better way to work together on a solution rather than kicking the can down the road. To be fair, now that we've been through the implementation and have a better understanding of the system, I anticipate savings around the 2 year mark.
The software usability isn't the issue here. It is easy to navigate once you know where to go and what you're looking at. Just be persistent on your questions until you get a satisfactory answer.
I would peg Paycor as a suitable solution for mid-sized organizations. Larger organizations with complex needs will likely struggle with the platform.
The software itself that Paycor offers is great. Probably one of the better options out there. However, be prepared to figure it out on your own. Your success with the software relies heavily on the payroll specialist assigned to your account. Pray that you get a good one or you'll be frustrated figuring out the platform with little resources.
