Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We utilize Paylocity as our HRIS system, our Payroll system and some Time off functions. We also utilize BSwift Benefits and COBRA.
  • File managment
  • Regular Payroll cycles
  • most reports run well
  • New taxes, or tax changes/ additions to organization. Changes to payroll process
  • EDI Feeds and communication between Paylocity and Bswift benefits
  • Customer service turn around time and effectiveness.
  • Communication between Paylocity and Bswift benefits and COBRA
  • More training with employees as the self service portal constantly changes- tax documents/ tax changes in particular
  • Personally I feel I receive too many emails from Paylocity, and in that some crucial development changes get missed as I often glaze over the lump sum of the emails
  • Paylocity has allowed us to create goo flow charts/ screen shots on how to do payroll- a new employee found directions left by previous employee easy to follow.
We constantly need to do uploads and reviews for our payroll, so we don't find these to be automated at all. There is a constant flow to them which is appreciated, but we still think we spend more time on the payroll process than we really should.
The payroll we do biweekly with 4 people, does seem to go off well.
No impact. These tools are not designed to benefit my company structure or culture so we don't utilize them in any way.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

No

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

No

I would recommend Paylocity to those small to medium sized employers who have single state, repetitive and structured payrolls. I would caution those with multi state payrolls/ growth opportunities/ and odd circumstance payroll items to research to make sure that Paylocity can really do what they say they can and how it needs to be done.

I think Paylocity does payroll well, but again would caution those who want to use the 'additional resources', BSwift Benefits, COBRA, recruiting etc to really research how well they will integrate with Paylocity and how much of a time saver/ benefit those systems really are. My experience is that while Paylocity will tell you they are 'whole' - they are not, and there is an amount of work that goes into integrating these items within Payroll.

My feedback to new people looking at Paylocity as well is regarding customer service. Paylocity doesn't seem to put any investment into their people/ team. Be prepared to speak to someone different every time you call for every issue. Be prepared for the need to bring someone up to date on a problem. I think of it more as a clinic type setting rather than a Primary Care... You get someone new every time and need to rely on notes left by others to be able to provide the best care. Advocating for yourself, your needs (business) becomes the most important.

Paylocity Support

The timing is SLOW for response. I rarely if ever get a same day response any more, and there are times I have had to reach back out about a problem 3 days later in order to get a resolution.

We never have the same customer service rep for any length of time. I feel I need to start from scratch with any person I speak with on the phone.

It feels like Paylocity has gone to a tracked CS system- and my tickets are often closed out before a solution has been made.

Significant decline in Paylocity CS over the last 3 years. No sign of an increase in CS either.

Yes - No follow up when resolved. It's something I found to be resolved as I would go back and try again.
Yes, but it was quite a while ago- when we had a designated CS agent and that agent knew about our system, as invested in helping us.
