Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We currently use most modules that Paylocity offers including: HR & Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding, Time & Labor, Learning, Performance, Surveys, Workflows & Documents and Community. This system has provided us a one-stop shop for HR processes and automated many of our processes. The system is easy to use. It has also allowed us to integrate with our benefit carriers for enrollment and changes.

Pros

  • Creates a simple way to collect new hire paperwork and engage with the candidates before hire.
  • Automating benefit enrollment from the employee to HR to payroll and the benefit carriers.
  • Customizable templates for performance reviews and surveys.

Cons

  • Most system issues have to be escalated and take days to weeks to fix.
  • Improvement in notifications from the system. Most are not customizable and don't provide an easy way to get into the system to view more detail. There also are not notifications for some processes where it would be extremely helpful to have them.
  • The ability to modify security groups and users as an administrator.
  • Reduction of errors with the information flowing from recruiting to onboarding and then HR & Payroll.
  • Reduced time spent on administrative activities.
  • Improved visibility to demographics.
Paylocity has automated our process of hiring through the easy to use and collection of new hire paperwork and then automatic flow into HR & Payroll. It has also drastically reduced time spent on benefit elections as a new hire or through Open Enrollment and then providing that data feed to our benefit carriers. Open enrollment has become a much less daunting task.
We have attempted to use Community but the employees have not taken to it. Part of the issue is the notifications that go to employee's e-mails on announcement don't easily allow you to see the entire message, you can't see any photos posted and there is no way to engage through the e-mail itself. So community hasn't been a reliable source to create engagement.

Paylocity is a great solution for a small to mid-sized company. It has automated many of our processes and is easy to use and navigate. Customer service and addressing system issues has not always been the best experience. During our open enrollment this past year someone our FSA file feed broke and I couldn't get a hold of anyone at Paylocity for a couple of weeks to address the issue and the employees did not have access to those FSA funds. Another example is I recently had a PTO request that was incorrectly entered and then denied by the manager but I still don't have the resolution I am looking for even after many e-mails and requests going back and forth. It seems every issue has to be escalated and it becomes a bit of a black hole where you don't know when you'll hear back and it is very inefficient as well as takes more time then I'd like to get the issue fixed.
