Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I "live" in Paylocity daily. I've had other companies try to get our business, but I'd be hard-pressed to leave Paylocity. I use it for onboarding, benefits, time-keeping, payroll, Community, etc. The reports are fairly robust, and if I need a custom or specific report, I reach out, and the service team is good about getting it done.

Pros

  • Onboarding
  • Quick customer service - I'm never stuck talking to a robot.
  • Easy to add new cost codes

Cons

  • I'd love for employees to be able to access bSwift on mobile
  • Employees should be able to request their own password reset
  • Helps track ACA -> prevents fines or tax issues
  • Saves HR time - online onboarding can be launched in 2 minutes rather than sitting with a new hire for an hour.
Any repetitive, menial, "data-entry" type tasks that can be automated make time for more pressing matters. As HR/Payroll, spending less time on many previously manual tasks has opened my day up to other things like updating the handbook, creating policies, and focusing on employee matters.
Community has been huge for us! We can post the next day's schedule there which eliminated the old call in system we had. This saves dispatch AND drivers time. It is now one click. I post new policies, company announcements, and we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries there. We have just started using Peer Impressions and it seems to be great for morale.
Paylocity is easy to use and has everything the competitors have.

Paylocity created a custom report for me to use for our prevailing wage and certified payroll jobs. It's actually such an impressive report that LCPTracker has asked Paylocity to create it for some of their other clients. It took my manual, job by job, data entry and simplified it to a significant degree. My main "complaint" is that onboarding is only accessible on desktop. Not all employees have a computer.

1 - I am the company administrator. There aren't necessarily any skills needed - it is easy to use, and if I ever need help I call, email, or use the PEAK self-education system.
