Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity to track time, process payroll, complete onboarding paperwork, performance reviews etc. Paylocity allows for everything to be in one place and ease of access for employees either through the app or on the website. I am a company administrator so I use all functions as both an end user and on the backend of the system.

Pros

  • Information available in one area
  • Visually pleasing
  • Relatively easy to navigate

Cons

  • Paylocity tries to stay ahead of competitors with services offered but fails to ensure services function exceptionally well
  • Customer service is lacking. 'Call center' style customer service instead of dedicated rep that knows your company's system set up
  • Issues take too long to resolve - often months for a resolution. Sometimes no resolution due to system limitations
  • Better visibility
Paylocity helps ensure more accuracy for things such as time tracking (compared to our previous way which was on paper). It does save some time too, however, because we have had so many issues within the system, time has been spent trying to resolve problems that we didn't have with our previous vendor. We do still save some time, but it would be much more if the system functioned better.
We use community to post announcements company-wide since not all of our workforce uses their company email addresses. This helps us to connect with all employees with important information. We don't really use impressions as we have had issues with this feature. Surveys are okay, it would be nice if the visibility of who the survey was launched to was better.

Paylocity allows employees to see information in one spot
and typically, is very visually pleasing and relatively easy to navigate.
Employees can access information on their app or website and are able to keep
their information up-to-date by making changes on the website.

Paylocity tries to stay ahead of its competitors with the
services that they offer to their customers, however, in doing this, they don't
do anything particularly well. I would love to see Paylocity focus on providing
exceptional experiences on the services they already provide rather than try to
offer more and have everything be subpar at best. They should do more testing
on their products before making it available to consumers and ensure that
glitches are a bare minimum before release. This would allow for a better
customer experience and when a glitch does arise for the end user, it likely
wouldn't take as long for a resolution.

Which brings me to my next point, Paylocity isn't timely in
fixing issues and doesn't have a good business model for customer services. It
can takes months for an issue to be resolved and sometimes even then the issue
is a system limitation and there isn't much that can be done. Customers have a
'dedicated account manager' however, good luck getting directly in touch with
them. The email is a blanketed 'service@' email which is supposed to go to your
account manager, but many times will be picked up by another representative.
You can call but 99% of the time you will get a message that your account
manager is unavailable and you can leave a message or wait on the line for
another representative - so basically you are calling a call center, which
makes it difficult because they are not familiar with the intricacies of your
company's specific set up.
