Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity is primarily utilized for payroll and time & labor (no punch clock). I like the onboarding feature which makes getting new employees setup much easier. I log out work comp cases into the system and Paylocity generates our OSHA 300's for us. It great to not to have to calculate staff and hours for the reports. We've encouraged staff to make changes (i.e. address, tax withholding, etc.) via the Self-Service Portal. We newly enrolled in the Compensation Management function, so I look forward to seeing its benefits.

Pros

  • Nine years ago we moved from ADP to Paylocity, it is great to have a PC based program that refreshes immediately.
  • The training / help functions are great. Clear to understand and detailed. I recently participated in the Compensation Management modules and I am able to return to the information as needed.

Cons

  • We do not receive consistent information when we contact the service center. We've been provided with several ways to accomplish one tasks (i.e. gross up employee financial gift). This makes us hesitant to trust the information received.
  • Onboarding module has greatly improved the new hire process.
  • Compensation Management - signed purchased the functionality. In trying to implement it to our process it was not compatible. 1) need multiple levels of approvals. 2) one-time bonus set up for future approval. Discontinued use.
  • Self-Service Portal - has decreased the number of file maintenance tasks needed to be completed as employees enter / update their own information.

Paylocity Support

Inconsistent responses on how to complete a task. Example - employer paid taxes on gift that needs to be reported as earnings. Compensation Management - after implementation training, I contacted the service department to receive assistance on setting up the module. I found the person to lack knowledge as it appeared that he was reading the directions and was all over the screen when pointing out items. I was very confused.

It's a misnomer to say we have a dedicated account representative, because when we call we typically end up with someone.
