Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I use it most recently to look at my pay stub. Personally, I also use it to look at an employee's pay stub that claimed that they didn't get paid the accurate amount of money. I also use it for onboarding. So it solves the problem of having to do pay for onboarding, WOTC and E-Verify. It just knocks all that out for us. It's really great, has a lot of steps, but it's great and it keeps us from having to file paperwork, so that's great. And then I think that as far as using it, I think it's great. I just think it has one small kink.

Pros

  • I think it's great because it streamlines onboarding. It allows us to get employees from hire to completely ready to clock in and 15, 20 minutes if they are tenacious. If they're not as tech savvy, maybe 30 minutes feel better than two hours. If we did paper, I think that's a great pro. Another pro is everything in one place and so we love not having to search for paper and worry about items getting lost. So paperless is great.

Cons

  • For me personally, the one thing that I often get hung up on is usually it's the state tax form. For some reason it just messes up. And I think it depends on when someone lives in one county and works in another county, it kind of gets hung up and we have to go in and either sometimes do a manual or get HR to help us with that. And then another thing that I am challenged with often is when an employee gets assigned to one area and they get transferred, their supervisor writes doesn't come with them. But in general I think it's a good program.
  • I think it's a positive ROI because it just reduces the amount of time payroll spans, reviewing paperwork for accuracy and completeness
So the automation tools are great, especially with interviewing and hiring, being able to go directly from an applicant and just marking them as hired and then being able to send them straight to onboarding and get that done.
I know that I used the training video when I started, which was great for me to be able to do not just the E-Verify, but there were some other videos that I participated in. I assigned them to myself because I wanted to know more. And for the employees, them being able to go in and view their paycheck and also do the recognition, which is like the workplace social media is really great.
I think that because there is a little bit of room for improvement with a few things, but it's still good and it's very functional.

I think is for any hospitality industry, it allows the HR manager to be able to streamline their onboarding, their WOTC. If they participate and they're e-verified, that's really great. And if you have a large number of employees, it's great because it's everything in one place. You can run reports. I think, I won't say less appropriate, but if you have a small business with say 10 or 15 employees, it can get costly because you do pay per employee. But I think if you have a large business, I think definitely once you get over 15 employees it will be great.
