Overall Satisfaction with Pexels

I've used Pexels for many different purposes over the years. One of the main areas was in helping clients imagine how their designs would look with different photographic styles and depicting different ideas. Before this, we would have issues with clients disliking designs because they couldn't envision them within the context of seeing photography that was relevant to them. Pexels really helped be able to visually describe ideas.
  • Search returns are accurate to what I'm looking for
  • Collections of images are very helpful for finding inspiration
  • Images are varied in style and can be well adapted
  • Making ads less prominent
  • Having collections based on industry
  • Being able to export with different presets and styles
  • Ability to search easily
  • Free downloads
  • Being able to download in different size variations
  • Speed of getting clients to agree on concepts
  • Ability to visually describe ideas
  • More quality looking concepts early on
  • Cuts down on time spent
Pexels has a great search function behind it and is very compatible with the other leading brands. One of the main benefits in comparison is that it is free to use and promotes creativity with its photographers. It has fewer 'stock looking' images as opposed to Adobe or Shutterstock but is a lot better for lifestyle imagery which I use more widely.

Pexels is great for being able to quickly find and test how images work within a design or brand and using them as visual references for clients. It's great when you need more natural-looking images which have nuance and depth to them. The ideas behind photos are less literal and more evocative of lifestyle and feeling so are well suited to a lot of brands that champion those values. It's not so great when you need something super specific or more 'stock image' looking. So, more corporate companies may find less helpful results.
