Overall Satisfaction with Progress ShareFile
We use Progress ShareFile to store Closing Books after completion of an M&A transaction internally and with shared accounts with our clients. We also use ShareFile to upload and then to distribute Closing Books after completion of an M&A transaction when ZipFile distribution is too large to send in an email to specific recipients.
Pros
- User friendly
- Provides option to send via email or in a link
- Easy to change the authorized recipients
Cons
- Keep the links available forever without an expiration
- Allow users to access a link without registration
- Saves time instead of loading documents onto a flash drive and distributing manually.
- Provides secure messaging for personal documents or documents with protected information for client confidentiality.
I am not able to assess this item.
We have not utilized Progress ShareFile for managing client interactions but we do upload Closing Books from M&A transactions into ShareFile to store there within shared folders with our clients. This allows us to manage the documents and is efficient for the client to access them without concern of losing them.
We do not utilize the E-Signature portion of ShareFile but we do send out secure messages with personal documents and protected information. It is very simple to utilize both personally and professionally to avoid any concerns of hacking or leakage of information.

Progress ShareFile is the option which my employer selected which I have free access to. The other platforms that I have utilized are in connection with an M&A transaction that a client or advisor has engaged for the transaction. ShareFile is simple to use for its options but is not as helpful for data room storage.
