Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

Our Finance and Accounting dept uses Prophix for financial reporting, annual budget, and monthly forecasting. We are able to create our monthly financial package with the click of a button. Some of our other department heads now can go into Prophix, see their department's financial reports, and drill into the data!

Pros

  • We have a nightly process that runs automatically to import our data from GP; we can also do this manually as needed.
  • One source! Everyone gets to see the same data without changing Excel formulas!
  • Workflow tasks help organized duties and track where things are in the process.
  • Creating reports in Prophix is easy; formatting is almost the same as it is in Excel.
  • All reports can be exported to Excel or PDF.

Cons

  • The only negative I can think of is the Administrative functions are for a single user. Although this is a great control, it is sometimes painful when only one person can add an account or change named sets.
  • Prophix has streamlined our budgeting process and saved many hours of consolidating multiple spreadsheets.
  • All Accounting staff are able to run financials and analyze data on their own time as well as import from our accounting software.
Prophix consultant set-up the import process from GP during implementation as well as the nightly process to import and update tables. We recently updated our GP version, and Prophix was available and helped ensure things were set-up correctly and we were able to continue business as usual.
Since we do our payroll in house, I run the payroll reports and upload as a flat file...easy and accurate.
We started with the combination, but we are now all cloud with Prophix. No complaints! Love always having the latest updates and current version!
The Prophix staff is very helpful and quick to respond. I like that they teach me instead of doing it for me when possible, so I don't have to contact them as often! Never talked to anyone at Prophix that I didn't respect or think highly of! Very professional, great customer service!

Prophix makes budgeting and reporting a breeze. Creating non-financial reports and storing non-financial data is easy. Detailed Planning Manager allows for importing payroll data and calculating next year's budgeted payroll including taxes and benefits based on those actuals.
