Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Sense
Qlik Sense is used as a reporting/dashboard platform at my current organization.
- Handling of Large Dataset
- QV Load Script, once comfortable is a great tool to grab data from our data warehouse
- Not a lot of room for customization as we were used to in QlikView
- UI and default navigation can be very clunky and not user friendly
- Although the backend is fantastic, the front end experience leaves a lot to be desired. As a developer you don't have a lot of options to customized your app unless you turn to Javascript, CSS and HTML. This is not a common stack you would find in most BI developers
Do you think Qlik Sense delivers good value for the price?
No
Are you happy with Qlik Sense's feature set?
No
Did Qlik Sense live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Qlik Sense go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Qlik Sense again?
No
- It provided good insight into the business
When it comes to working with large datasets out of the box, Qlik in my opinion is unrivaled amongst the competitor. However, the overall user experience and customization options available to developers require a lot of work. When compared to other options on the market, we're able to easily create beautiful looking dashboards in PowerBI or Tableau but it's definitely a struggle with Qlik. Although Javascipt and restful API are nice to have, this is not a common skillset you often find amongst data folks. This also makes hiring talent a challenge.
