Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a service based organization and we implement solutions for our clients. I am a part of the Analytics department and we implement QlikView based dashboard/ solutions to address clients' business problems. Typically, I have worked with Insurance and Healthcare(Pharmaceutical) clients which are market leaders in various geographies like US, India, etc.

Alternatives Considered

Tableau Desktop

QlikView has a great capability of handling complicated, heterogeneous and raw data and convert them into consumable form by performing basic ETL operations in comparison to Tableau and Power BI.

Qlik Sense, Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata Database

Likelihood to Recommend

QlikView is well suited for scenarios where a heavy data is involved or heterogeneous data is there which also requires some manipulation/ cleansing or application of business rules. Also, if the UI dashboard involves complicated formulas to be worked upon, QlikView is well suited.

However, if there is a need to quickly create some dashboards where the developer has little knowledge on database/ scripting and also there is no data manipulation required for input data, other technologies other than QlikView can be considered.
