Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

Quickbase is used for ad-hoc in-house applications that need simple data shared in real-time with a group of geographically diverse employees.
  • Quickbase is ideal for sharing and editing data by a group.
  • Reports are easy to create.
  • Being web based makes it computer agnostic.
  • Built in ODBC support ... sometimes it would be nice to have data flow to other business applications
  • Designing applications is not intuitive or easy for an end user.
  • Better documentation
We have.

We have built several in-house custom applications that help us achieve our business goals.
Quickbase is easier to implement than a LAMP stack.

Knack's licensing is far superior to Quickbase. Quickbase and the crazy cost per user make it hard to develop an application that is shared by our customers. Knack gives us similar functionality at a fraction of the cost.
Basic forms are easy but anything advanced takes a professional ... especially joining tables and formulas. Citizen developers get lost and the help (tutorials, examples) are weak at best.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
Only partially ... too expensive, hard to code and then when data sets get large we get break down.
We use Quickbase constantly and updates are transparent.
Ideally suited for small teams and mid sized data.

Large amounts of data with a large amount of users = disaster.
